sounding board |ˈsaʊn(d)bɔːd |
noun

  1. a thin sheet of wood over which the strings of a piano or similar instrument are positioned to increase the sound produced.
  2. a board or screen placed over or behind a pulpit or stage to reflect a speaker’s voice forward.

Sounding Board started off as Destination Unknown, an online journal I started to update friends and family about my travels after graduating from university, a journey I undertook without a definite deadline or destination. As it became clear that my initial trip to Bali was more than a short sojourn in Southeast Asia, my blog organically evolved into a collection of political opinions, updates relating to my work with Tibetan and Burmese non-governmental organizations, cultural observations and dabbles in more literary pieces. It became my sounding board.
